I hadn&#039;t hear Rubalcaba&#039;s cover, but there&#039;s a live trio version link below, with John Patitucci &amp;  Jack DeJohnette, neither of whom can be called a slouch. Holy Moses. This makes me think a thread on ECM Records would be fun...

I&#039;m uncomfortable with most forms of hagiography, and Lennon&#039;s is no different. It doesn&#039;t negate the hero&#039;s work, but it gauzes up the context somehow, at least for me. And this is a guy with a lot of very rough edges. I hope, after all the anniversary business in December, he&#039;s getting a little rest now.
