Seriously humane public radio programming that always makes Santa Monica feel like home within five minutes. Now if I could find a place to park ... I hadn't hear Rubalcaba's cover, but there's a live trio version link below, with John Patitucci & Jack DeJohnette, neither of whom can be called a slouch. Holy Moses. This makes me think a thread on ECM Records would be fun... I'm uncomfortable with most forms of hagiography, and Lennon's is no different. It doesn't negate the hero's work, but it gauzes up the context somehow, at least for me. And this is a guy with a lot of very rough edges.
